Feds Recalling 512K Smart Space Heaters Sold Nationwide That Pose Burn, Overheating Risk

Hundreds of thousands of space heaters sold nationwide are being recalled due to fire and burn risks, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission announced this week.

GoveeLife and Govee have issued a recall for approximately 512,500 smart electric space heaters in the US and 48,600 in Canada due to overheating, posing fire and burn hazards. 

The recall involves models: 

  • H7130

  • H7131

  • H7132

  • H7133

  • H7134

  • H7135

They were sold online from September 2021 to September 2024 on Amazon, the Govee Home App and TikTok Shop.

To date, there have been 113 reports of overheating, including seven reported fires and one consumer suffered a minor burn injury. 

Consumers who do not have the original order number will receive a refund ranging from $31.80 to $106.63, depending on the model purchased. 

For consumers who do have the original order number, they will receive a full refund of the purchase price. Consumers can find the order number in their purchase records on online sales channels.
